Lumière is a Saudi luxury womenswear brand built around the idea that modern Arab femininity does not need to choose between tradition and ambition. Bloom built the brand from the ground up — positioning, identity, content, social, and two short films — and launched it to an audience that was already waiting.

Before Bloom

The situation we walked into.

Lumière came to Bloom as a concept, not a brand. The founder, a Saudi designer with 12 years of experience in European fashion houses, had a clear vision for what the brand should feel like but no infrastructure to bring it to market. She had the product. She had the aesthetic. She did not have a brand.

The luxury fashion market in Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest-growing in the world, but it is also deeply crowded with international names. Breaking through as a homegrown luxury label required a positioning so precise and a visual language so distinct that no international brand could credibly claim it.

The brief was to build a brand that felt genuinely world-class — not 'world-class for the Arab market,' but world-class. Full stop. A brand that could sit next to Totême or Jacquemus on a mood board without looking like it was aspiring to be them.

What We Built

The work we did.

01

Brand Positioning & Identity

The positioning we landed on was specific: Lumière is for the woman who has edited her life to its essence. Not minimalist for its own sake. Edited. The difference is intentionality — a Lumière woman does not own less because she cannot afford more. She owns less because she has learned what she needs.

The visual identity was built around the concept of negative space as luxury. White space as confidence. The logo is a single word in a custom typeface we commissioned — a geometric serif that carries Arabic proportions in Latin letterforms. The colour system is cream, charcoal, and gold — applied with restraint.

02

Social Presence Architecture

We designed the Instagram presence before the first post was made. The feed grid, the story templates, the caption voice — everything was specified in advance. The result was a feed that looked curated from day one, because it was designed to be curated from day one.

The content mix was deliberate: 60% editorial imagery, 30% behind-the-scenes craft, 10% direct community. No lifestyle flatlay. No discount codes. No giveaways. The brand grew slowly at first, then fast — the way prestige brands should.

03

Film Production

We produced two short films for the launch: a 90-second brand film titled 'The Edit' — a day in the life of a woman who chooses deliberately — and a 40-second collection film that showed the garments in motion, in natural light, on real women.

Both films were shot in Riyadh and directed by Bloom's creative director. Neither film mentioned the brand name until the final frame. The story came first. The brand earned its credit at the end.

What We Learned

Our honest reflection.

Luxury is not a price point. It is a permission structure. Lumière taught us that the most powerful luxury signal is what a brand refuses to do. No discounts, no giveaways, no collaborations for reach. The refusal was the message.

In the Arab luxury market, authenticity of origin matters enormously. When Lumière's audience understood that this was a Saudi brand, built by a Saudi woman, designing for Saudi women — not an interpretation of that from the outside — the growth became self-sustaining. The brand was shared because it was claimed.

Film is still the most powerful format for brand building. The 90-second brand film generated more meaningful engagement — saves, shares, DMs, press enquiries — than every other content format combined. Short-form video performs. Long-form video converts.
